Handley Page Hampden in the air

The Handley Page H.P.52 Hampden was a medium weight, British bomber aircraft, that was operated during World War II. It was developed by Handley Page Aircraft Company. The prototype made its first flight on 21 June 1938. Hampden bombers took part on the first British bombing raid over Berlin and were used during the Allied “1,000 bomber raid” or “Operation Millennium over Cologne. All in all about 1420 Hampden bombers have been built, some of them were delivered to the Soviet Union; additional Hampden bombers were exported to the Royal Australian Air Force, the Air Force of New Zea
