Gloster Aircraft Company

As well as building their own designs, Gloster also built large numbers of Hawker designed aircraft, such as the Hurricane and Typhoon, due to their membership of the Hawker Siddeley Group.

History

Founded in 1917, Gloster specialised in the design and construction of fighter aircraft. Gloster became the first aircraft manufacturer in either Great Britain or the United States to design, build and fly a jet propelled aircraft.
