Flying-wing refers to tailless fixed-wing aircraft whose structure consists mostly of a large wing with no definite fuselage. A flying-wing design is, theoretically, the most aerodynamically efficient design for a fixed-wing aircraft. However, these designs tend to suffer from inherent stability problems due to their shape, and require extremely skilled pilots and/or advanced flight systems to compensate for these differences.

Many flying-wing designs in history were created between the 1930s and 1940s, but interest was sparked again in the 1980s with the development of stealth technology, which relies upon shapes to escape radar detection.
